N-Roc, CSRS, The Arts & Media Management Club and Net Impact present a movie about climate change: The Age of Stupid
When: January 27th @ 5:30pm
Where: Schulich room W133.
There will be pizza and pop for those who rsvp at
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=253390407341&index=1
The movie takes place in year 2055 in the apocalyptic environment caused by climate change. Pete Postlethwaite, possibly the only survivor wonders, “…why didn’t we save ourselves when we had the chance?” Pete takes viewers back in time (to our present time) and draws attention to a number of critical climate change issues, which we can address now. From Pete’s archives we learn about five very interesting stories of real people and their struggles in stopping climate change.
What’s interesting is that the filming of this movie was based on a “crowd-funding” model, which means that governments or commercial studios could not impact the content of the movie. What is shown is what the author wanted to show without outside pressures. We urge you to come out and see the movie to become better educated about climate change.
Registration for MEC 2010 will be live on January 28th, 2010.
And reminder our Arts & Media Conference is Saturday March 13th at the Schulich School of Business - mark your diaries!
